Dynamic vs Static Content

Dynamic Content

Dynamic content is data that is updated on a frequent basis.

Data Sync with Airbnb operates differently. Please consult this article to learn about Airbnb synchronisation.

It includes:

  • Prices (=always updated instantly)

  • Availability (=always updated instantly)

  • Fees (for booking.com & Despegar, this is static data)

  • Taxes (for booking.com, this is static data) (not synced with Despegar)

  • Same day booking cut-off

  • Discounts (not synced with booking.com, nor Despegar)

  • Minimum Stay

  • Extra Guest price (for booking.com & Despegar, this is static data)

Static Content

Static content is data that is usually changed infrequently. Static Data is pushed to each channel depending on the configuration of each channel in the Distribution Center

It includes:

  • Listing name

  • Property's basic information, including Sleeps, Max Sleeps, Currency. (floor number is not synced with Booking.com & Despegar )

  • Amenities, including bedrooms

  • Description (not synced with booking.com)

  • Photos

  • Payment Methods (not synced with Despegar)

  • Cancellation policy

  • Down Payment (exceptions: Booking.com & Despegar sync does NOT support down payment sync at all, VRBO: learn more about its Down payment settings here)

  • Damage Deposit

  • Arrival information & instructions ( Check-in details & place are not synced with Booking.com & Despegar)

  • Check-in/out times

  • Terms & Conditions (not synced with booking.com & Despegar)

  • Fees for Booking.com & Despegar

  • Taxes for Booking.com

  • Extra Guest Price for Booking.com & Despegar*


Booking.com Exceptions:

  1. Extra Guest Price for Booking.com:* If the only change that is made on a property is the extra guest price, an automatic listing update will not be triggered. In this case, you need to manually update the listing content OR you can opt to modify other listing's content to trigger the automatic listing update.   2. Listing name & type: will only be updated by a manual listing update; The automatic listing update does not update them. Learn how to manually update a listing for booking.com here

  3. Cancellation policy: will only be updated by a manual listing update; The automatic listing update does not update them. Learn how to manually update a listing for booking.com here

  4. Check-in Amenities: (lock box/in person check-in/and similar) can only updated by a manual listing update; The automatic listing update does not update them. Learn how to manually update a listing for booking.com here

Despegar Exceptions:

  1. Extra Guest Price for Despegar:* If the only change that is made on a property is the extra guest price, an automatic listing update will not be triggered. In this case, you need to manually update the listing content OR you can opt to modify other listing's content to trigger the automatic listing update.   2. Contact details are not synced with Despegar
