How to connect to Expedia?
Who can connect to Expedia?
New Expedia users: only accounts with more than 100 properties
Existing Expedia users: yes, they can connect without any requirement
Pre-requirements
Occupancy based pricing must be selected in the Expedia dashboard. The following details should be filled in Rental Ninja:
All Basic Info & Location
Content: Description (at least 700 characters) + Terms & Conditions are mandatory. The rest is recommended.
Guest Info: Check-in/out times + Check-in place + Contact details are mandatory. The rest is optional.
Amenities: the amount of beds must be equal to the max. sleeps indicated in the Basic info of the listing. Must have kitchen.
Rates / Upsells: Base rate + cancellation policy is mandatory. Min stay must be between 1 - 28 days. The rest is highly recommended.
Pictures: at least 10 pictures are mandatory. Main picture is selected. More is recommended
Legal: Mandatory to fill in all required data
How to make the connection with Expedia?
Go to Expedia’s dashboard
Go to the Rooms and Rates section
In the Setup section: select Expedia Connectivity Settings
Select Quick Connect. Check both connectivity options: Availability and Rates AND Booking Retrieval
SAVE
Come back to Rental Ninja
Go to the Distribution page
Connect to Expedia
Follow the below steps of How to add new properties to Expedia or How to map a property with an existing property on Expedia.
How to add new properties to Expedia?
Go to the Distribution page
Connect to Expedia if not yet done
Click on: Connect your first property or Add property
A dialogue window appears with the question if the property is already published in Expedia. If the property is not listed in Expedia, click No and follow the next steps. Instead, If the property is already listed on Booking.com, please follow the steps indicated in How to map a property with an existing property on Expedia
Provide the required information and click Next. !!During this step you it will require you to have your Expedia PM Name at hand. If you can't find it in your agreement with the channel, please contact Expedia's support team!!
Choose the Rentals you'd like to connect and click Next and Next again.
The content quality is analyzed. This process should take up to a few minutes. When done, the summary of properties' content is displayed.
If the property is ready to publish, indicate the mark-up. If not, improve the indicated and retry after 10 minutes.
Click on Publish Properties
The published properties will enter the Pending status.
In order for your properties to go live, you need to contact [email protected]. The channel reviews your properties and their status will be the updated automatically. It can take up to 24 hours before the pushed property is visible in the Expedia dashboard.
Note: Each property created this way in Expedia will become a hotel. If you want a multi-unit set-up (several room types in the same hotel), you will need to manually create the set-up in Expedia and then map it in Rental Ninja.
How to map a property with an existing property on Expedia?
Go to the Distribution page
Connect to Expedia if not yet done
Click on: Connect your first property or Add property
A dialogue window appears with the question if the property is already published in Expedia. If the property is already listed in Expedia, click YES and follow the next steps.
Provide the Hotel ID and click Next. The Hotel ID can be found in the Expedia dashboard. If you can't find it, please contact Expedia's support team!!
Click on Next
Click on Connect this room
Select the property you'd like to map it with.
Click on Next.
The content quality is analyzed. This process should take up to a few minutes. When done, the summary of properties' content is displayed.

Click on Connect Property
Note: Due to a strong Expedia policy to prevent duplicates, it is not possible to re-create the property's connection with the channel (archive and connect again). Archiving a property does not resolve this, as the connection between Rental Ninja and Expedia is still maintained in the background.
