How to Add Additional Services (Upsells) for Your Guests on Rental Ninja
Preconditions:
To enable Upsells, your account must meet the following requirements:
Your Rental Ninja Account has to be connected to your Stripe Account:
To charge for additional services, you need to have the payment gateway (Stripe) set up and active. You can check the steps to activate it in this article: Stripe Connect: collect payments and manage security deposits.
Guest Portal Activate:
In order to offer services to your guests, the Guest Portal must be functional. You can refer to the steps to activate it in this article: Guest Module Setup.
Cost:
This service is based on a fee of 1% of the revenue generated from additional services.
How to Create Your Catalog of Additional Services:
Follow the steps for each item you want to offer to your clients. The configuration is done in two steps:
A. Create a New Service in Your Settings
B. Add and Configure the Service in the Property
A - Create a New Service in Your Settings
Access the Settings section.
Go to the Fees / Services section.
Click on + Add New (at the bottom right of the screen).
Fill in the following fields:
Name (internal name, not visible to your guests).
Type.
Rate Type (Fixed, Fixed per Night, Fixed per Person, Fixed per Person and Night). Note: Percentage options are not valid.
Rate (based on the currency you have set).
Save
Repeat this step for each service with different characteristics. If you have services with varying prices, such as parking, create a parking service for each price. For different types of cleaning with distinct prices, create a service for each category.
B - Add and Configure the Service in the Property
Go to the property you want to configure.
Navigate to Fees / Services via the side menu.
Go to Fees / Services in the top menu.
Click on + Add New (at the bottom right).
Select the item you created in your settings (only fixed rate options are valid, never percentage-based ones).
Check the option Bookable as an Additional Service.
Click on Configure Additional Service.
Add the languages you want to offer.
Fill in the descriptions for each language.
Set the limit of days before Check-in until when the purchase is possible, or check At any time to remove this restriction.
Select an icon and color.
Add a representative photo.
Save (twice).
How Will the Guest See the Service?
Guests will access it through your Guest Portal, which will lead them to the Additional Services page.
Once a guest purchases an additional service, you will receive:
Service Purchased notifications on your mobile and timeline (when you have Permission to see the Booking Breakdown of the property)
The funds directly in your Stripe account.
